Terms of service
1. Services Overview
Oliver Key provides professional video editing services for individuals, brands, agencies, and businesses.
Projects are quoted individually based on their scope, complexity, and delivery timeline. Deliverables, revisions, pricing, and deadlines are agreed upon before work begins.
Services may include:
Commercial video editing
YouTube video editing
Short-form content (Reels, Shorts, TikTok)
Talking-head videos
Podcast editing
Color correction & grading
Audio enhancement & sound design
Motion graphics (basic)
Subtitles & captions
2. Project Terms
A 50% deposit may be required before work begins unless otherwise agreed.
The remaining balance is due before final delivery.
Project timelines begin once payment (if applicable) and all required assets have been received.
Expedited delivery may be subject to additional fees.
3. Scope of Work

Unless otherwise agreed, services do not include:
Filming or videography
Photography
Scriptwriting
Copywriting
Thumbnail design
Marketing strategy
Social media management
Advanced VFX
3D animation
Web development
4. Client Responsibilities
The Client agrees to provide:
Project brief
Raw footage
Logos and brand assets (if applicable)
Music or licensed assets (unless otherwise agreed)
Required text or copy
Timely feedback and approvals
Delays in providing materials or feedback may extend the agreed delivery timeline.
The Client should designate one primary contact responsible for communication and approvals.
5. Intellectual Property
Ownership
Upon full payment, the Client receives ownership of the final delivered video(s).
The Editor retains ownership of:
Unused concepts
Editing workflows
Templates
Presets
Proprietary techniques
Unless covered by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), the Editor reserves the right to showcase completed work in portfolios, websites, and social media.
The Client is responsible for ensuring they have the legal rights to all footage, music, graphics, fonts, and other supplied assets.
6. Source Files
Final exported videos are included in every project.
Source project files (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or other editing software) are not included by default unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Original client footage always remains the property of the Client.
Project files may be archived for up to 30 days after final delivery. Long-term storage is not guaranteed.
7. Revisions
The number of included revisions is agreed upon before the project begins.
Revision requests must remain within the originally agreed scope.
Major creative direction changes or additional requests may require a revised quote.
Revision requests should be submitted within 14 days of receiving the delivered version.
8. Payment Terms
Payment methods are agreed upon before the project begins.
Invoices are payable according to the agreed payment schedule.
Final files are delivered after full payment has been received.
Late payments may delay project delivery.
Payment plans may be offered for larger projects by mutual agreement.
9. Confidentiality
All client materials and business information are treated as confidential.
The Editor agrees not to disclose confidential information unless authorized by the Client or required by law.
Confidentiality obligations remain in effect after project completion.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Editor’s maximum liability is limited to the total amount paid for the project.
The Editor is not responsible for:
Third-party platforms or services
Copyright issues relating to client-supplied materials
Business performance, revenue, or marketing results resulting from the delivered content
Delays caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control (force majeure)
11. Project Cancellation
If the Client cancels a project after work has commenced:
Payments already made are non-refundable.
The Client receives all completed work corresponding to payments received.
Additional work completed beyond the deposit may require payment before delivery.
Either party may terminate a project with written notice if communication or contractual obligations cannot reasonably continue.
12. Dispute Resolution
The parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith communication before pursuing legal action.
If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which the Editor legally conducts business.
13. Changes to These Terms
These Terms of Service may be updated from time to time.
The most recent version will always be available on this website.
Continued use of the services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
